¿Ha visto que algunas veces quienes hicieron algo no fueron en verdad los que se creía? Este es el caso del descubrimiento de las series infinitas, uno de los principios de las matemáticas modernas.
George Gheverghese, de la Universidad de Manchester, dice que la Escuela Kerala en el suroeste de India, identificó las series infinitas hacia el año 1350.
El descubrimiento se le atribuye, según los textos actuales, a Isaac newton y Gottfried Leibnitz a finales del siglo XVII.
La contribución de esa escuela no ha sido reconocida por el rechazo a las ideas de fuera de Europa y por los restos del colonialismo europeo.
