Se extingue el leopardo asiático-Amur leopard dies

Se muere una especie dice nuestra siguiente nota de ciencia:
Un nuevo censo reveló que el leopardo del lejano oriente (Panthera pardus orientalis) sigue siendo el gato más amenazado del planeta: apenas quedan de 25 a 34 ejemplares en ambiente salvaje.
Durante los meses de febrero y marzo, el World Wildlife Fund junto con la Wildlife Conservation Society y el Pacific Institute of Geography de la Academia Rusa de Ciencias, realizaron un conteo del número de leopardos.
“El censo confirmó una vez más que el leopardo de Amur sobrevive en un ambiente frágil”, dijo Pavel Fomenko, coordinador del programa de conservación de la biodiversidad de la WWF en Rusia.
El avance de la civilización, las nuevas carreteras, la caza ilegal, la explotación d elos bosques y el cambio climático han contribuido a la actual situación del leopardo.
