This subject has many implications. The oceanic waves are of long wavelength, westward travelling and linked to the Earth rotation and its shape. Critical to transmit energy and nutrients throughout the oceans, they can intensify the western boundary currents, such the Gulf Stream and the Kuroshio Current, which would affect the variation of the climate year after year.
